What is AsiaticFreight.com?

AsiaticFreight.com is a web application system that assists in the search for logistics services, catering for consumers and businesses interested in doing "ad-hoc" shipping.

How does it work?

We provide logistics coordination services, with our main core service geared at obtaining quotations from transportation companies that are efficient at sending the things you want to send, at an affordable rate and quick transit time.

Why am I asked to pay to use AsiaticFreight.com?

No. Registration and accessing AsiaticFreight.com is completely free. Obtaining quotations based on your shipping requirements is also free on most cases and only charged a nominal fee for certain shipping requirements.

What kind of requirements?

Certain requirements require extensive search and will incur expensive communication fees with our agents. (Example: Communicating with multiple agents in other countries)

Whilst we try our level best to keep quotations free, certain shipping requirements may require a nominal fee.

Why charge a fee when we are bringing you business?

Frankly, the main reason we charge a nominal fee is because there are people that wish to "joy quote-search" (as we call it), and asks us for quotations just for fun, for the sake of comparison against other shipping companies, etc. This becomes a major liability for our carrier network, and results in the carriers passing us very high shipping rates instead. All in all it has a negative impact towards consumers and our carriers as a whole. So it is really the consumers and our carrier network's best interests to charge a nominal fee for certain quotations.

How much would one needs to pay for a quote-search?

Again, we wish to emphasize that most quote-search requests are free, only quote-search requests that are commmunication-extensive will we charge a nominal qS(quote-search) fee. Rates usually vary between $1 USD to $5 USD.

What happens after a quote-search request has been made?

We proceed to find the best quotations available for your inquiry through our carrier network. Quotes we collect are filtered to pick the best rates for you, based on further inquiries by us like: Date of delivery, Urgency of shipment, cost effectiveness, transit time requirements, extensive care on the cargo, etc.

If you accept the rate, we proceed to establish a shipping delivery for you by requesting further details like the MSDS (material safety data sheet), trade tariff code, etc. You will then be charged based on the quotation rate stated. If you are charged for the quote-search, the qS fee is refunded; deducted against your payment due.

Are the carriers in your network trustable?

We regularly check against our network for their service status, availability, stability, and other factors before we request quotations from them. Of course, sometimes you might encounter some 'black sheep', in this case, we provide the solution to rate the carrier popularity points between 1 to 5; where 1 is for poor and 5 is for very good.

Ratings from you and other consumers help to regulate our carrier network, as you can actually see the ratings for each carrier during a quote-search result.

Is there an expiry on the quotation rates you give me?

Yes. All rates are effective month by month.

If you decided to ship in a different month, please notify us earlier to avoid any delays in your quote search.

I forgot my password. What do I do next?

Please proceed to our Password Retrieval page to request for your email. You will need to enter your email address and answer the CAPTCHA question to obtain your password. The reCAPTCHA system is to stop bots from obtaining your passwords by brute force.

I wish to send an entire container of items. Your site doesn't seem to cater for such requests?

Our main area of business currently is LCL (Less than Container Load) freight import and export, in and out of Malaysia. Therefore our web application does not support quote-search requests for FCL (Full Container Loads) and other requests such as vessel chartering, etc.

However, for such inquiries, please send us an email regarding the request for us to help you with your search. On a sidenote, AsiaticFreight.com is constantly upgrading to serve you better. Therefore, we will provide more extensive quote-search services in the near future to cover more aspects of transportation. Our development team is building up a FCL based component for AsiaticFreight.com, to cater for FCL inquiries.

Why am I told that I am not able to deliver small items? Or send a single item within Malaysia?

We advise our clients to utilize services provided by courier companies to deliver small items within Malaysia due to the cheaper rates provided by courier companies. We do not have any couriers signed up under our carrier network yet; though we may do so in the future.
